Barnacle tracks what you pay for subscriptions. This policy explains what the app handles and what leaves your device. The short answer is that nothing leaves your device, and the rest of this page is the detail behind that claim.
Everything you enter stays in a SQLite database in Barnacle's own storage on your device:
We have no copy of any of it. There is no server, so there is nothing to breach, subpoena, or sell.
Nothing. Barnacle contains no networking code. It does not call an API, load remote content, or report errors home. Two things that usually require a network in other apps do not here:
Unlocking Barnacle is a single non-consumable purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Payment details go to Apple, never to us, and we never see them. Apple tells the app whether the unlock is owned; the app records that one fact locally. Apple provides us the usual aggregate, anonymous sales reporting that every developer receives.
You can export your data yourself. Where it goes is your choice, and once it leaves the app it is outside this policy:
You can require Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode before Barnacle opens. iOS performs that check and tells the app yes or no. Biometric data never reaches Barnacle, and the app cannot read it.
The settings screen has an optional email field. It is stored on your device and used only to fill in a support email you choose to send. It is not transmitted anywhere by the app.
Barnacle is a general-audience budgeting tool. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Because your data is on your device and nowhere else, you already have full access and deletion: edit or delete any subscription in the app, and delete the app to remove everything. There is no server copy for us to hand over or erase, and no request you need to file with us.
If a future version of Barnacle changes what it handles, this page changes with it and the date above is updated.
